About Heat Pumps
Heat pumps are similar to air conditioners. They have the ability to move heat either into your home and warming it or out of your home and cooling it. One difference between a heat pump and an air conditioner is that a heat pump only transfers heat whereas an air conditoner not only transfers heat but also provides ventilation. A heat pump is very similar to a refrigerator which pumps heat from inside the fridge to outside. If you feel the back of a fridge you will notice it is warm. Of course a heat pump can work in either direction, heating or cooling a room.
